Dr Zombie's guide : Hunting 101
« on: September 11, 2011, 06:54:33 PM »
Hi,
this is the first guide from Dr Zombie to help new players.
(sorry for my english, I'm not fluent in this language)

To have a mentor as Ally : D0E1FBFD

This game is not a puzzle, so it's not a spoiler or a solution.
It's a part of my discovers that I share with people.
Each people will have it's own actions, and this text could help them to optimize their strategies.

1. Select place to investigate

To hunt zombie, you must in first investigate a place.
Types of Zombie will be setted by the type of the location that you will select.
Restaurant, School, Store, Café, Parc, Bank, ect. will provide current Zombies and their own Zombies (boss).
Each Zombies have their own specifications (attack points), so if you find easyer zombies, select the same type of location.
For more fun, try to hunt in differents places to discover the great zombie designs.

If foursquare members are "online" on the same place, they will be associated at your fights.
It mean they will share your damages. So try to find places with a lot of people online to have chance to win your fights.

2. Select hunt

Hunt has 3 missions :
- RECON (minimum energy required = your level)
- HUNT (minimum energy required = 2 x your level)
- ASSAULT (minimum energy required = 3 x your level)

The strongest zombie could have until 5 levels more than you.
So select mission with the higgest quantity of zombie to decrease the level of the main boss.

Example :
You are level 10
RECON : x3 -10 energy
Mean :
. You will have 3 zombies, it will require 10 energy to play, you will win 10 xp for reward.
. The strongest config against you will be 1 zombie level 8 and 2 zombies level 1.

You are level 10
ASSAULT : x6 -30 energy
Mean :
. You will have 6 zombies, it will require 30 energy to play, you will win 30 xp for reward.
. The strongest config against you will be 1 zombie level 15, 1 zombie level 11 and 4 zombies level 1.

So you have choice, to win 30 xp, you could play 3 RECON against 3 level 8 or 1 ASSAULT against 1 level 15 and 10
If you have cheap weapons and armors, you should select 3 RECON.
If you have upgraded your weapons/armors you could try the HUNT and ASSAULT missions.

RECON is easyer, but take more time to achieve.

Tips :

The easyer misson is RECON with 3 or more zombies and with your level max.
If the quantity of zombies or energy required is not great, then close the hunting windows and reload it, you will have a new suggestion.

If you select a place with less than 3 zombies, when game will calculate the energy required, if it give you 3 zombies, it will remove energy required because you will have less zombies at final. So if you have not enought energy to hunt, try to find mission on a place with less than 3 zombies.

3. Security

By security, always have some health packs with you (1 minimum).
To buy then, collect supplies (outpost or scavenge) and buy them in shop.

4. Fight

The first Zombie is the stronger.
Against him, avoid to use weapon with negative defense associated, else your negative defense will be added at its attack points.
Use the strongest weapon with negative defense only at the final shot against him (it avoid that it use the negative points against you).

If you have all the last armors, smallest zombies will have no effects on you (level 1,2). You can play with funny weapon against them (shoes, hockey stick, wrench,...).

With ASSAULT, sometime, if at the end of the mission you have not use your health pack, you receive more xp points.

5. Damages

Each fight damage all armors.
Each use of weapons damage them.

So avoid to use the most possible your hightest weapons to avoid to pay a lot to repair them.
Use them for the biggest zombie, and for the smallest use small weapons.
Look their energy bar to calculate witch weapons will be the better.
Adapt your weapon at the zombie's energy bar.
You don't need a +60 attack againt a level 1 (10 energy) zombie.

Good Hunt !

Tips :
when your energy bar is empty, you could finish your health by dueling people to win duel xp.

Thinks to buy credits to support Devs.
