I believe part of this has already been mentioned on the Steam forums.

1. The health is ridiculously low compared to what we used to be able to accumulate. I remember spending ~100 days with the Chimera on my doorstep while I upgraded facilities.
2. We need a way to boost passive repair, and maybe a way to passively repair while under bombardment (as in, limit the damage). We used to have this via drones and supply runs to colonies.
3. We need ways to boost max station health. I wouldn't mind tying this to cleared rooms.
4. Those repairs are really expensive. Who has that many materials sitting around to protect against bombardment?

I have to agree, at least in part. Perhaps an upgrade of 'armor' or 'shields' which get hit before the station health, but are easier to upgrade or whatever have you.

I'll be making a new post on my overall stuff including the Station Health mechanics.
