Hi Survivors,

To ensure a pleasant and profanity-free experience for the participants and lurkers in Global Chat, we're introducing a "Three Strikes" rule. Starting today (October 30, 2012), any user that receives three mutes will be automatically flagged for MDI review and potential Global Chat ban.

This change is not designed to stifle the vibrant and diverse conversations in Global Chat. Instead, it provides an additional incentive to adhere to Global Chat's golden rule: Please be respectful. Anyone who has received a mute in the past (either one hour or 24 hour) will be given a clean slate and a fresh start with the introduction of this change.

As a reminder, mutable actions include, but are not limited to: censor dodging, trolling, hate speech, abusive and disrespectful behaviour, hazing new survivors, posting private communication or personal information in chat, and/or other destructive or inflammatory activity.

Please share this information with your safehouse and stronghold members.

Hello Survivors,

As a reminder:
Avatar guidelines: http://forums.pleasestaycalm.com/index.php?topic=3192.0
Global Chat guidelines: http://forums.pleasestaycalm.com/index.php?topic=5572.0
EDIT: earlier posts about avatar guidelines and Global Chat guidelines have been merged into this post.

We intend to enforce these rules and guidelines in game.

To be clear, please refrain from making:
a) Global Chat posts, avatars, safehouse/stronghold names or player names that contain censored words.
b) Posts, avatars or names that present excessively objectionable or crude content, or are primarily designed to upset or disgust other users.
c) using avatars, player and/or SH names designed to troll other SHs or survivors.
d) avatars, player and/or SH names containing words like PSC, CVC or MDI name/language, for promotion or appearance of affiliation.

While some of these guidelines are subjective, action will be based on volume of complaints and /reports received by MDI support/player moderators. Repeat offenders can be muted, lose their chat and/or whisper privileges, be locked into a generic avatar or lose the ability to create SHs, join SHs and/or use the /report username feature.

Once again, these changes are not designed to repress individual creativity or enjoyment of PSC but are there create an understanding of what is acceptable in the public space. We simply ask that you please be respectful in Global Chat.

Hello survivors. In the interest of clarity, please note that 'giving the finger' in your avatar is considered profanity. We ask that you please refrain from using these images.

Also, please do not post external links in Global Chat. Links to official or unofficial PSC blogs or forums are acceptable, within reason.

As always, thank you for respecting the public space.
