The last event was way too long, this one too short.

Can't we just have a week or two off? So we can catch up our skills

Do you remember the episode of The Simpsons where Homer went to work for Hank Scorpio, and Bart was put into a "remedial" class? He met a kid there who had one line: "I moved here from Canada, and they think I'm kinda slow, eh?" That kid is MDI. They're likeable, they mean well, but they have their limitations. There have been comments from the devs on these forums that indicate that they're a small team that has to fight their own code to implement features or fix things that get broken.
It used to bug me that crafting never happened, that weapon mods "becoming like gems in Diablo 2" never happened, that the encyclozedia and weapon mod pages are still barely usable, that the daily login bonus has had a "more rewards coming soon" message for months. It doesn't take much technical expertise to put a game up on the app store, so it's understandable that MDI routinely bites off more than it can chew.
If you want a free to play game with great production values, minimal bugs, and a short delay between when features are announced an implemented, click on the mobage button on the home screen and you will quickly find what you are looking for. If you want to collect every item in your videogame, buy a console game or take a second job, because you will never be entitled to all the goodies in a free to play game unless you pay to compete. However, if you do try another free to play game, you will find it lacks the community aspect of PSC. MDI really nailed it there.

I've been really busy the last week with rl stuff, but between a couple hours yesterday and a couple hours today I have the hat, the limo, and an solidly in the 90-240 HC ranking for the weapon. I used up 15 of the 20 Happy juice I bought(plus the two freebies) and now I've got some home brews to go through. I'd say the timing on this event was just about right, but that's just my opinion.
Therefore, Lessifer's answer is right.

This event is actually really well done in terms of casual play. If you ignore leaderboards and can one-shot the first few levels of Dons, you can farm them for short and tall homebrews, then let their level reset and repeat the process. I got 65 mobsters just off the Don's homebrews and 2 Happy Juice drops. The event is friendlier to the casual player than it first appears.

I think the problem many are getting to here is the short turnaround on events is becoming a monotonous daily grind for many players that used to look forward to new events. Events that happen every week arent events. Christmas is an event, Tuesday isnt.

A lot of players do want to compete, just find that they cant keep up. Many PSC players are a tad anal, so they want to compete, they want every item and they want their skills leveled. When they cant do those things, they give up. I think we are seeing a lot of that now. Choosing to not participate in the events just doesnt seem right to most long time PSC players.

Personally, I dont find it to be a big issue. I can usually get the items from an event in the first day or 2 and basically take the rest of the event off. Not everyone is that way.

In the end, it is a business and needs to make a profit. MDI is not the US Postal Service, after all. If more people buy creds with increased events, then it makes sense to do it that way. Im sure theyve done their market research and know what the result will be.
